The Universal Salsa

We all know the salsa world is infinite. You can mix and match tomatillos and chiles and create sicpy, mild, and colorful salsas. But creating a salsa that is not spicy and universal is a lifesaver because if you make a large batch and utilize it in many ways throughout the week. I hope you enjoy my simple tasty universal salsa

Ingredients

  1. 15 tomatillos
  2. 3 garlic cloves
  3. ½ white onion
  4. Water from pot
  5. Salt

Notes

If you want to make this salsa for a one time use I suggest you only boil 6-8 tomatillos. This batch will be small enough for one dish but if you want to make a good amount to save throughout the week I suggest sticking to the 15 tomatillos. Regardless if you use 6-8 tomatillos or the entire 15 you still will stick to the 3 garlic cloves and ½ white onion. If you wanted a small kick to this salsa add 1-2 jalapenos but keep in mind if you have little ones they might not enjoy the small kick of spice the way you would.

Instructions

You fill the pot with water until the tomatillos are fully covered (meaning you don't overfill the pot). You will then boil the tomatillos until they are nice and soft. You will then get your boiled tomatillos and add to blender with your onion, garlic, and salt to taste. As you start blending if you want to change the texture add water from pot to get it to your liking. And that is it :)

I love this salsa so much because I can make some enchiladas and while making my enchiladas I can be dipping some chips in the universal Salsa. This salsa will be a hit with any dish you make or anywhere you go.
